Here is a 28mm Bolt Action game based loosely around the fighting in Stalingrad. Fought on a Big game Saturday. 33 order Dice for the Russians and 42 dice for the attacking Germans.Played on a 6' x 10' table.
Russian - Janos and I
The forces had the Russian defending two lines of buildings with 2 regular platoons each consisting of a CO, 3 infantry squads, 1 SMG Squad, MMG 81mm mortar team, AT Rifle team, Sniper team and Medic. One platoon had a 45mm AT Gun, the other had a 76mm.
There was a penal platoon of 3 Squads. and 2 Artillery Fo's ( 1 for a 76mm How and a 122mm How)
The reserves were quite strong 3 T34, another 45mm guns another platoon of 3 squads, MMG 120mm mortar team, AT Rifle team, Sniper team, Flamethrower team. these would be called after turn 4 and arrived randomly on a dice roll.
German -Barry and Robert (then Felix)
The Germans started with 2 Veteran Platoons, each consisting of +2 Officers, 5 Infantry squads (1 made of Assault rifles and smg's)
Mortar team(1 x 120mm & 1x 81mm), MMG team, Sniper team or Flamethrower team, Panzershrek team, Medic team. An artillery FO (for 2 x 105mm- off table)
They had another complete Platoon which would arrive on turn 8. They had reserves from turn 4, which they could choose what they wanted on 10 or more or get them randomly ( they chose the latter).
The Germans:
1st Platoon
2nd Platoon

The Table from Russian side
The German set up
1st platoon
2nd platoon
The Russian set up
Penal Platoon ( hold a road block)
1st platoon holding the factory complex
Turn 1 - The Germans rush across the open ground to attack their objects
TURN 2 - The Russian CiC can see he needs to reinforce his front line and orders the 2nd platoon forward to support the penal and factory by splitting the force
The Russian mortar pepper the assault rifle squad but cause no casualties.
The German 2nd platoon are finding taking the factory, difficult
TURN 3 - The German 1 platoon are making progress and have force a penal squad to take a morale check, which they fail and rout off. the German flame thrower team is lurking (at the bottom of the picture)
Russian 2nd platoon are still "russian" to get in the battle
The German 2nd platoon are making headway (but at a cost), in the factory
Russian reserves for turn 4. 120mm mortar, Flame Thrower and AT rifle
German reserves for turn 4. Sniper Team
CIC +3 Officer
Turn 4 - The german of 2nd platoon assault the factory together, but the Russian's have an SMG squad ready to charge in, to help their Komrads out!(bottom of picture)
The penal platoons all fail morale checks with to many pin markers (blue counters) and rout. Good decision by Russian CiC to commit the 2nd platoon early, otherwise it may have been a clean sweep on this flank.
One German Squad got hit, and took a lot of pins from the Russian Artillery and is still failing morale check and unable to advance
The Russian reserves are getting into position
The German 2nd platoon still trying to assault the factory (the germans have changed as the player had to leave and swapped his troops)
Turn 5 - More Russian Reserves
2 T 34 and a squad of green infantry
German Reserves - PIV, An MMG team and a Veteran infantry Squad
The T34s move straight up the road to protect their reinforcement entry area
Over view of Russian Right
and the left
The German reserves on the move to reinforce the factory
Unfortunately we ran out of time at this point but it was a Russian victory as the Germans did not achieve any of their objectives. A tough game for the Germans House to house fighting certainly bogs units down. The lack of knowledge of the rules by a couple of the players slowed down proceedings, but enjoyable game, none the less!
And to finish, a couple of Robert's Pussycat's (Not parts of the game!
