Last night I put a game of KoW III for two club members who had not played KoW before. It took them a couple of turns to grasp the concept of the rules, but once they did, we completed five turns to a conclusion.
One thing I noticed, even though I know the rules quite well, but finding out where to find traits like Yielding, etc, was rather odd. There is no mention in special rules, then you find it under Individual. The rules have an index of all the main chapters of the book, but to not have a "break down" index of the rules themselves has let this rule set down. Looks like I will be doing a "look-up" index myself!
the game was 2000 points Goblin vs Kingdoms of Men. All Goblins are old GW/ Citadel. Kingdoms of Men are a mix of GW Bretonians, Perrys Plastics/ Metals, Wargames Foundry. Both Armies from my own collection! Last two pics are not part last nights game, had them with me

At this point, the Goblins seemed to take so much damage and all three Hordes failed their Nerve test, even with re-rolls. The game was over, KoM had lost two units to the Goblins only having the Rock Lobber and 3 Heroes & a Wiz left on table.A combination af Good & Bad dice rolling on both sides.
Conclusion: I am still getting to grips with the pointing of Armies since first edition, my 1500 point army went up 170 points, when second came out and my 2000 point 2 ed army now costs 2180 in 3rd. I will be giving Sword & Spear Fantasy a go (now I found my Rules)
