As part of "games I wanted to play before moving to Wales" season, one and only Sci-fi game I would ever play is SPACE HULK. And as I only have the figures I had been looking for the original game, as the new version is a different game to me, so needed a game before I moved house.
Since moving I have purchased the game along with Genestealer and Deathwing supplements, and the campaign book. It's a great game, easy to learn and very tense as the Marine player.
Back in July of 2019, seven of us played one evening at the South London Warlords.
Four Marine squads and all the Genestealers are from my collection. The White marines, all the boards etc, are from David Barnes' collection.
The "Ship"
Why do Marines always enter at the furthest point from their mission!
Paul's and my Squads
Roger's & Steve's
Frankie had 2 squads
Our mission can be seen on the far right
And off we toodle, on our way!
First contact was Paul's
Corridor Clear
My squad shows blips
Steve has no blips as yet
Roger is in for a surprise & so is Frankie
blips
Roger's flamer is all fired up, bingo!
"They're coming out of the walls"
Successful flame by my Flamer
Oh oh
First Blood to the Steelers was Frankie's NCO
Steve's Squad
Paul's squad loses 2 Marines
Frankie pushes on
Roger is now under pressure in the center
Frankie is getting blitzed
Roger loses his Captain (no more initiative counters for his squad)
Another successful flame from me
Clear, move forward.
Roger's last marine gets got, Steve is on his own in the center
Covering the Steeler Portals
Clear!, Move Forward!
More Blips, more flames, more moving forward!
Bugger, Missed!
Frankie.......Ruuuuuun!
We are getting closer
Bye Fankie! Getting overwhelmed!
The last flamer charge is fired from my squad
Marine on his own
In this turn the mother ship can be heard over the intercoms
"Mother ship calling Marine squad's Alpha, Beta, Charlie, do you copy, over?"
"Mother ship calling Marine squad's Alpha, Beta, Charlie, do you copy, over?"
"Again Mother ship calling Marine squad's Alpha, Beta, Charlie, do you copy, over?"
Thanks
for the game Paul, Steve, Franki & Roger as the Marines and to Dave
and Harry as the Steelers. A very fun but tense game!
At the beginning of lockdown 1, I have since expanded my Marines and finished of another 18 or so stealers. All the blue and ochre Marines are the new recuits
